Tis the Season for Christmas Campaigns
Every year Christmas campaigns are created to inspire us, spark emotion, and get us in the mood for the holiday season. When it comes to Christmas campaigns, we look for 3 things: Does it grab attention? Does it recall the brand? And does it motivate behavioural change?
After looking at several amazing campaigns from 2021, we have narrowed them down to 5 and made a list (and checked it twice) of our favourite Aussie campaigns that tick all of our boxes. So, grab some eggnog and enjoy!
Michael Hill – Make Their Christmas
Starting off strong with a simple, yet effective advertisement with a meaningful message. Michael Hill’s campaign truly embraces the meaning of Christmas – reminding us that it’s not the gift that matters, but the thought that goes into it, as well as acknowledging that gifts have different meaning for different people.
Big W – Christmas 2021
The gift of giving is so special, and Big W really emphasizes that in this advertisement. This campaign especially targets parents who go above and beyond to see the joy on their children’s faces when opening presents Christmas morning – even if that makes being woken up at 6am.
Aldi – You Can’t Overcook Christmas
Aldi, Christmas and Darude – Sandstorm, could you want anything more? This upbeat campaign highlights the joy of letting go and going all-out this Christmas, which is something that many Aussies deserve after another year of lockdowns and restrictions.
Aldi has done an incredible job at encouraging consumers to create the best possible Christmas this year with help from their phenomenal Christmas range. It’s also reminded us to stock up on their French champagne and delicious hams.
Myer – Unriddle Christmas
This campaign is a clever reminder that Myer provides the perfect gifts for everyone – even the ones that say, “surprise me” and “I’m easy” when asked what they want for Christmas. With such a wide variety of products both online and in-store, Myer is always there to unriddle gift buying.
Australia Post – Spread the Merry
And last but certainly not least, AusPost has done it again this year and created an engaging campaign that taps into the spirit of Christmas, while effortlessly reminding us of what it’s like to be Australian. The combination of the upbeat and catchy song and the cheerful singing postboxes has us tapping our toes and feeling fuzzy inside.
With the effects of the pandemic still being present in many Australians lives throughout 2021, we love the lengths brands are going to create special Christmas campaigns to get everyone in the spirit with a little magic in their advertising.
We really hope these festive campaigns jingled your bells; we can’t wait to see what next year’s Christmas spirit looks like – see you in 2022!
